The load on dogs harnessed to wheels on a flat, dry track is less than when they are harnessed to a sled. There is no friction force. Therefore, the speed of dogs is huge, faster than in winter.
There are bumps on some sections of the dirt track, because of them the passenger feels the speed as even higher. In addition, the dry ground is hard, if you have a fear of falling out of the cart, you understand that it will hurt to fall, it is not soft snow. Bumps have a bad effect on the safety of cart wheels and animal joints. Therefore, we do not like to drive in dry weather and we do it rarely.
If the ground is wet, then the irregularities are smoothed out, the speed becomes less. It's safe. But there is a minus-you will have to pay for the cleanliness of your clothes — dirt flies from under your paws. Dress up more simply, preferably in old worn-out clothes, and we will give you a raincoat and glasses for additional protection — and go ahead and have fun!
